Sow Instruction Manual - "Breeding"

K2 Agro invites you to another training for professionals from the "User Manual" series!

When?

The training will take place on January 21, 2025 in Poznań from 10:00 to 17:00. Detailed information will be sent to participants before the event.
Training program:
  • Basic issues in animal breeding – genetics, breeding program, breeding value, herd replacement, index, etc.
  • Breeding gilt/replacement gilt – maintenance, technology, selection, identification.
  • Purchase of breeding animals: transport, health status, phenotype, settlement plan, quarantine, acclimatization.
  • Reproduction – physiology, technique, methods, equipment.
  • Control of reproductive parameters.
  • Maintenance of animals in the breeding sector, in the control sector, in the group housing sector depending on the technological system.
  • Welfare and care of pregnant sows.
  • Health care, health status monitoring, preventive program.
  • Semen – basic information on production, packaging, viability, transport of semen, storage, use.
SPEAKERS

Dr Marian Porowski

A graduate of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the Wrocław University of Environmental and Life Sciences. For many years he has held the title of one of the best veterinary medicine specialists in Poland.

Mgr inż. Szymon Sygit

Master of Science in Animal Science. Graduate of the University of Life Sciences in Szczecin. Senior manager of large-scale mother farms, production manager and foreman of the reproduction sector with over 20 years of experience. For many years he has managed herds of several thousand sows, has extensive experience in managing both breeding and commercial herds. He has the versatile ability to manage large teams of employees. Since 2015 he has been breeding pigs in the "antibiotic-free" standard with an increased welfare standard.

Mgr inż. Karolina Krasicka

M.Sc. Eng. in Animal Science. Specialist in biosecurity and pig production, With many years of experience in standardizing animal production and implementing operational procedures in large-scale and individual herds.

The training cost is PLN 1,390 net/person.
